Grand Canyon North Rim

We spent a few days "recuperating" in Las Vegas after our river trip.  It was really nice to sleep in a bed, eat food without sand in it and be dry and warm.  But we really missed being out in the canyon and on the river.  It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience to float the Grand Canyon!

Not having enough of the canyon, we headed back out to camp up on the North Rim and look down on where we had been.  The weather was a bit dicey, with snow, rain, hail and cold weather for a couple days, but we did have a few nice days to explore and hike and stand in awe of the canyon from up on the top.  Here are some highlights.

The drive on the Kaibab Plateau to the canyon rim is beautiful
Uh-oh, snow.
This view was a 5-minute walk from our campsite
The South Rim is across the canyon in the distance
Many beautiful viewpoints on the North Rim
Vertigo anyone!?
Taking a break on the Cape Final trail
Cape Final overlook
Another great view
A windy sunset near the Grand Canyon Lodge
